Walk across fields to join a gentle circuit of the reservoir, through reed beds, marshland, hay meadows and mature woodland.
To join the walk: Leave the airfield via the main entrance, turning right onto Wellingborough Road. As the road bends to the right, take the well-hidden footpath immediately to the right of the entrance to Townsend Farm. Follow the footpath with the hedge to your left. At the end of the hedge, take the path heading diagonally to the left across the next field. Ignore the little bridge, and turn right onto the path along the river. Where the path meets Sywell Road, cross straight over and go through (or over) the gate into the Country Park. After 60m, take the path to the left to head around the reservoir in a clockwise direction.
