The the path follows the reservoir boundary and, although it does leave the water’s edge at times, it’s extremely hard to get lost. Walking anti-clockwise there's a picnic/BBQ area just over the causeway which is a perfect spot for lunch, and a tea room & toilets near the end of the walk at the Brixworth Country Park Visitor Centre.
To join the walk: Pick up the lane that runs parallel to the runway, and follow it around a sharp left-hand bend at the Western end of the runway and along past houses on the right. Follow the road right as it swings right at the T-junction and straight between fences descending gently to the farm entrance. At the end of this private road (just before a house on the right), turn right onto the gravelled lane signposted to “The Pines” to start an anti-clockwise walk around the reservoir.
