If you don’t want to make balls, simply pack the mixture into a small baking dish and cook for 30 mins or until golden brown.
various
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 tbsp fresh/dried sage, finely chopped
80g/3oz fresh white breadcrumbs
salt and pepper
1 egg, beaten
Sweat the onion in the oil, until soft but not coloured (about 15 mins). Add the garlic and sage and fry for 1 min. Leave to cool for 10 mins
Heat the oven to 160C fan. Stir the breadcrumbs through the onion mixture. Season to taste.
Add enough of the beaten egg to bind the mixture together and roll into individual stuffing balls (or use to stuff meat or poultry).
If making stuffing balls, cook in a roasting tin for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
