In a casserole dish, fry the chops on both sides until golden. Set aside and sprinkle with thyme.
Fry the onion and garlic for 5 mins to soften. Meanwhile, core the apples and cut into rings (leave skin on). Fry the apple rings for few seconds and sprinkle with a teaspoon of sugar.
Add a little of the cider to deglaze the pan. Place the chops in the casserole, and pour over the remaining cider. Season.
Transfer to a preheated oven (190°), and cook for about 30-40 mins until the chops are cooked.
Stir the yoghurt into the juices and service immediately.
